Prince William heads to Brazil for Earthshot Awards

Prince William is packing his eco-passport for Brazil next week as he kicks off a solo trip ahead of the fifth annual Earthshot Prize Awards in Rio de Janeiro promising both star power and climate action.

The future King’s itinerary blends business with a touch of sport, as he dives into engagements focused on the environment and the next generation of climate leaders.

A highlight of his visit will see him at Rio’s legendary Maracanã Stadium, where he’ll take part in a Generation Earthshot event inspiring young people from across the region who are participating in a three day programme to sharpen their leadership skills for a greener future.

And in true royal fashion, William won’t be staying on the sidelines. The avid Aston Villa fan is set to lace up his boots to join community leaders and local youth in football initiatives that use the game to promote teamwork, opportunity, and social change.

The Prince will also deliver what’s being billed as a landmark speech at the United for Wildlife Global Summit, an organisation he founded in 2013 to tackle the illegal wildlife trade.

The event will bring together global business leaders, philanthropists, and indigenous voices to strengthen the fight against environmental crime.

Between meetings, summits, and stadium stops, William will soak in Rio’s vibrant culture from its golden beaches to its famous landmarks all while championing a cause close to his heart protecting the planet for future generations.
