King Charles might not be delighted upon hearing a new nickname he has been given by Earl Spencer, brother of his late former wife, Princess Diana.
Prince William and Prince Harry's uncle recently appeared onthe Rosebud podcast, where he spoke about his decision to skip thetraditional eulogy and instead speak from his heart to honour her deceased sister.
He recalled, "I was living in South Africa - I flew back from Cape Town overnight. [A] very, very sweet stewardess helping me because I was in bits."
Earl added, "I like to keep busy. In those days, I had a big, thick address book, and I thought I wanted to find someone who was going to make the speech for her. I got to 'Z' and I hadn't found anyone."
The 61-year-old confessed that his mother and sisters chose him to give a heartfelt tribute to the People's Princess. Earl said that he thought it would be "ridiculous" to describe her sister in a normal written speech but to speak from the heart.
"Then overnight I must have been chuntering away and then realised that my job wasn't actually to do that, but it was to almost speak for her," he shared.
Earl continued, "I knew I'd be left at that stage; it had no legal standing, but I knew she'd left me as guardian of her sons [William and Harry]. Obviously, the other parent being alive meant nothing. But it meant something to me."
His statement grabbed the attention of fans, in which he called Charles "the other parent."
Reactions poured in on social media as one fan penned, "His shade is unmatched."
"I just love Charles Spencer calling Charles Windsor 'the other parent" hahaha. He has such a way with words to show his feelings," another noted.
