England’s medieval Chester Castle has recently received a mysterious “unexplained” visitor that many conspiracy theorists claim could be a ghost caught on camera.
A spine-tingling moment for the staff occurred when motion sensing cameras detected an unusual movement inside the castle.
The CCTV cameras at the front gate of the castle captured an image of the “ghostly” visitor. English Heritage shared the image that showed a pale figure wearing dark clothing and a hoodie.
The staff were alerted in the middle of the night and a guard along with his dog went to investigate but found the area empty. The dog’s strange behaviour further solidifies the ghost theory.
It has been revealed that the guard dog, usually fearless in such situations, refused to enter the compound.
Authorities revealed that a thorough search operation was carried out in the locked compound but no traces of any visitor was found.
The medieval castle, built in 1070 by William the Conqueror, is now a protected heritage site - a scheduled monument and a Grade I listed building.
Several motion-detection cameras are installed throughout the castle grounds to detect movement or any attempt to climb over the gates.
The latest image adds to one of the many “unexplainable” sightings that people have witnessed.
