Victoria Beckham sheds light on motherhood challenges amid Brooklyn feud

Victoria Beckham has recently reflected on challenges of her motherhood journey and career amid Brooklyn Beckham feud.

The fashion designer, who shares four children with former football star David Beckham, opened up about her struggles after becoming a mother.

Victoria had to leave Spice Girls at the peak of her career due to the birth of her oldest son, Brooklyn, who was born on March 7, 1999.

The entrepreneur, who tied the knot with David in July 1999, admitted she felt losing sense of self in the early days of motherhood.

“I had Brooklyn. I moved to Manchester, which is where David was living and playing for Manchester United. And by this point, he is on the first team; he's a big star,” said the 51-year-old while speaking on latest episode of Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper.

Although it was a huge transition for Victoria, she was still happy to be with her husband and her baby, Brooklyn.

However, with time, she started losing her sense of self because of the transition from performing on stage and travelling the world with her friends to being in “a flat in Manchester on her own with a baby”.

Victoria Beckham – Reclaiming her identity

Victoria was going through conflicting emotions at the time. On one hand, she “felt so lucky, and so blessed,” but on the other hand, she “was struggling to find sense of purpose”.

“I felt ashamed to admit that I didn't feel entirely fulfilled,” confessed the singer-turned-designer.

While supporting her husband’s career and fulfilling her duties as a mother, Victoria seemed to lose her identity.

“I felt like there was a clock in my head that was just ticking away, and I just struggled to figure out what was next,” said the businesswoman.

It was at that moment, Victoria had finally decided to build something of her own.

Eventually, Victoria launched her eponymous fashion brand back in 2008 and the reason was to reclaim her name and identity outside of the shadow of her footballer husband.

Now when she looks back, the fashion designer noted that this was one of the best decisions she ever made.

“Being so much older now, I am so thankful and so grateful,” remarked Victoria.

As far as motherhood is concerned, the fashion designer insisted she tries her “best” to be a good mother to Brooklyn and his three younger siblings.

Despite family tension, Victoria this week showed her support for her firstborn son after he shared a cooking video on his Instagram page, according to sources.
