Meghan Markle appeared to be quite busy this month as she made some significant appearances, sparking buzz about her next move.
The most prominent one had to be her solo visit to the French capital for Paris Fashion Week, as she supported longtime pal Pierpaolo Piccoli, the new creative designer for Balenciaga.
Even though Meghan hasn’t shown an interest in returning to the UK, compared to her husband Prince Harry, the optics left the Palace concerned.
There was speculation about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex testing the waters to see how the public would react to the former Suits actress returning to Europe, the “turf predominantly belonging to her in-laws”.
Then there were also reports of Meghan taking the next big step, a foray into fashion, and a possible attendance at London Fashion Week.
Royal commentator, Phil Dampier, believes that there aren't any plans for the Sussexes, especially Meghan, to return as she still remains “unpopular” in the eyes of the public.
The expert also noted that while Harry would hope to return, given his love for the UK, but Meghan has ‘persistently ranked towards the bottom of the list when it comes to YouGov's favourability poll, which looks at how popular Firm members are’.
Moreover, there is also the matter of security, which Harry has insisted is not sufficient to bring his wife and children.
He has renewed his security appeal by writing to Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood for automatic police protection while in the UK.
He is currently being granted protection on a case-by-case basis. Hence, it is unlikely that Harry would let his wife take the risk unless the matter was resolved.
