Buckingham Palace's reaction emerged in the media over new claims that Prince Andrew launched a 'smear campaign' against his sex accuser, Virginia Giuffre.
For the unversed, the Mail dug into more information from back in the day when Ms Guiffre, who accused the 65-year-old Prince of sexual assault when she was in her teens, filed a legal case against him.
The above-mentioned outlet revealed that Andrew allegedly assigned a task to his taxpayer-funded bodyguard in 2011 to 'dig up dirt' against Ms Guiffre.
The late victim even mentioned in her posthumous memoirs that Andrew's team hired "internet trolls to hassle" her.
Now, an insider shared that the Palace's officials are quite concerned and closely monitoring the situation, hinting that further action might take place against Andrew after the title drop.
The source said that the "new allegations that have been brought up are of very serious and grave concern and should be examined in the appropriate way."
It is important to mention that on October 17, Prince Andrew released a statement, announcing that he will no longer be using his title, the Duke of York, and other honours, as the good work done by the royals was overshadowed by his scandals, which he categorically denied.
