The royals seem to be breathing easier as a crucial decision by King Charles and the “immediate and wider” family took an important decision for the future of the monarchy.
Just as Buckingham Palace had issued a statement on Friday, on behalf of Prince Andrew, as the shamed royal gave up the use of his royal titles and honours, the public has finally given its nod of approval. Even though, there are still a few grievances, it is a start.
In the meantime, Charles is said to be “glad” over the big step and he is already beaming in his latest appearance. Moreover, the monarch’s office issued a delightful message on Monday, as UK marked big celebrations.
“Wishing a very happy #Diwali to everyone celebrating the Festival of Lights in the UK and around the world,” the message read alongside a special card designed, with the emblem of the Palace atop it.
As the third-largest religious community in the country rejoices in the colourful and sparkling festivities, the Palace is also preparing for a special family celebration at Windsor Castle.
Later this month, the King will be hosting a birthday reception for The Duke of Kent, who was Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin. The announcement came just weeks after the heartbroken royal had lost his wife, Katharine, Duchess of Kent.
The past few weeks had been a whirlwind for the royal family, from immeasurable loss to the onslaught of damaging headlines about Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Now, the royal family can finally focus on their tasks and take a break.
While there are still calls being made for a legal action to remove Andrew’s royal titles, there is optimism that an action was taken after a public outcry.
