US to celebrates ‘National Day for Charlie kirk’ to Honor his legacy

U.S. is celebrating the legacy of Charlie Kirk as October 14 marks ‘Charlie Kirk’s Day’.

The late right-wing conservative activist’s birthday has been marked as the National day for remembrance of Charlie kirk.

The day is celebrated for the first time in U.S. since the white house upper legislation has passed the resolution to dedicate a day in remembrance of Charlie James Kirk’s for his remarkable contributions for the country.

U.S. senate proposed a bill on September 18, 2025 to declare the right-wing, conservative icon’s birthday as the “National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk.”

The resolution entitled the day as an opportunity for "Americans to reflect on Kirk’s contributions to public debate and civic engagement."

The dedicated day recognizes U.S activists lasting influence on faith-based advocacy and youth leadership.

The 31-year-old Charlie Kirk was the former CEO of Turning Point USA. He was the close alley of U.S. President Donald Trump.

The day of remembrance resolution called the conservative activist "champion of free speech, civil dialogue, and faith."

According to USA today, President Donald Trump informed that he will posthumously award a slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk with the ‘Medal of Freedom at White House Celebration

President further informed that late Charlie Kirk’s wife and Turning Point USA’s new CEO, Erika kirk would also attend the event to receive the award on behalf of her husband.

A candlelight vigil has been scheduled in Florida Capitol, in Tallahassee for remembering Charlie Kirk who was assassinated at Utah University on September 10,2025.

An organizer of the vigil said “His death has struck so many hearts and we now must carry on his legacy too."

The dedicated day for ‘Charlie Kirk’ is designed as a voluntary commemoration rather than a mandated national event and there is no official federal holiday.

Charlie Kirk supporters are expected to hold gatherings across United States, especially outside Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA’s headquarters.

Additionally, the day holds a special value besides Kirk’s birthday.

October 14 is not only dedicated to Charlie Kirk but it also celebrates George Floyd birthday who was a 46-years old Black man murdered by a Minneapolis police officer in 2020.

George Floyd’s death sparked resistance movement after some witness captured the video of his brutal murder.

In the wake of ‘National Day of Remembrance for Charlie Kirk’, the country also celebrates and Honor all those who sacrificed their lives for the nation and yet there is still a struggle of justice and recognition for them.

The Community Renewal Society (CRS) plans another event titled as “Day of remembrance: Remembering Our People & Our Power" also scheduled for October 14,2025.
