William and Kate's Royal Foundation recently launched the National Suicide Prevention Network

Prince William is heading back into action days after his and Princess Kate’s new National Suicide Prevention Network was launched under the Royal Foundation.

Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Prince of Wales will join Jordan’s Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II for a rare joint engagement at RAF Benson in Oxfordshire on Wednesday, October 15.

The two heirs will tour the military base, meet trainee aircrew and staff from two squadrons, and hear firsthand about their experiences serving in global operations. They’ll also inspect aircraft and visit a squadron hangar, where they’ll meet helicopter technicians.

The announcement comes after an emotional few days for both William and Kate, who recently marked World Mental Health Day with a series of emotional engagements.

According to the Palace, the upcoming visit highlights William and Hussein’s “strong relationship and their mutual respect and support for the Armed Forces.”

The occasion is especially significant for both royals. RAF Benson, which provides critical support for global operations, is home to No. 22 Squadron — the same unit where William once served as a search and rescue pilot during his time at RAF Valley. The squadron is also marking its 110th anniversary this year.

As for Crown Prince Hussein, he’s no stranger to the skies either. The 30-year-old royal is a trained helicopter pilot and a Major in the Jordanian Armed Forces, having completed his flight training in 2019.
