A Terrifying incident has been reported in California after a helicopter crashed near a popular beach, leaving 5 people seriously injured.
CBC reports that a wrecked aircraft was crashed on Huntington Beach in California near Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
Dramatic visual shows the moment, aircraft suddenly lost control midair and began spiralling-slamming into a row of palm trees and eventually crashed on to the beach.
Several other videos show the helicopter plunging towards the edge of the beach, before becoming wedged between palm trees and the staircase of a pedestrian bridge that runs over the Pacific Coast Highway near the beach resort.
Moreover, the Huntington Fire Department reported that the injured people from terrific crash included two individuals and a pilot on board along with three others on the site including a child.
As reported by the fire department officials, all five injured individuals were safely pulled from the wreckage and shifted to nearby hospital for treatment.
The pilot, 'Eric Nixon' was identified as the owner of the helicopter, who is believed to be famous for performing stunts with helicopters, including sharp turns, low-level sprints and risky manoeuvres while flying.
Police officials confirmed that the helicopter was reportedly linked to an annual ‘Cars N Copter’ fundraising event scheduled on Sunday, October 12, 2025.
In addition to that,CBS also reported that an exclusive helicopter landing party was being hosted at the nearby offshore Rooftop Lounge on Saturday afternoon, where attendees were invited to ‘watch helicopters flying from a bird's eye view’ ahead of the charity event.
Furthermore, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) informed that the cause of the crash is currently unknown.
However, the city officials report that investigations are underway and the specific area is currently closed to the public until further update.
