Tom Holland's father, Dominic Holland, debunked reports claiming his son "cracked his head" on the set of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
A few weeks ago, several outlets reported that Tom had been rushed to hospital after a stunt went wrong during filmingthe new movie, leading to a minor concussion.
Writing on The Brothers Trust website, the charity organisation run by Tom’s parents, Dominic set the record straight.
"Reading the stories in the media of Tom's 'horrendous injury' brought to mind the adage that one should never believe what is written in the newspapers."
He added, "There was no ambulance, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day is not being filmed at Leavesden Studio. Perhaps this mystery ambulance driver had a concussion also."
However, Dominic admitted that Tom hit his head at work and went hospital "as a precaution," spending a night at what he described as a "posh hospital."
The following morning, Tom attended The Brothers Trustcharity event but left early after feeling unwell.
Dominic explained that when The Odyssey star began hosting the event, he started feeling sick after two rounds due to all the bright lights and loud noise.
"Keep in mind that with concussion, two things to avoid are bright lights and excessive noise," Dominic said. Tom was then advised by a doctor in attendance to go home and rest, meanwhile his fiancé Zendaya stayed back to support the charity.
After Tom's illness at the event, filming was paused for a week and resumed on September 29.
In addition to Tom, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon will reprise their roles as MJ and Ned. Meanwhile Jon Bernthhal, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo will be joining the cast.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be premiered on July 31, 2026.
