King Charles shifts focus to fulfilling key duty amid Prince Harry drama

King Charles is determined to focus on his first priority as family feuds, especially with his son Prince Harry, and scandals pop up from left and right.

However, Charles is well aware of things that are happening around him but he is Willings to keep his vow to not let things shake the monarchy.

There are several royal rules and traditions that have been upheld by Charles’s predecessors and even though he has been making some drastic changes, he is keen on protecting the reign even if he has to forgo some key things, according to a royal author.

Valentine Low, veteran royal correspondent and author, told The Telegraph that the King has so far stuck to his promise not to be a “meddling monarch” in the same way he was once accused of being a “meddling prince”.

The royal tradition dictates that the monarch is to refrain from taking any political stances and sway the public opinion. However, that has not been the case entirely as Charles is known to be political within the Palace walls.

Low suggested that Charles is not using the same tricks as he did when he was the Prince of Wales, even though he is the king now.

“In the first four days after accession, he gave three speeches and all of them mentioned the constitution,” Low pointed out.

“He no longer writes to ministers, he no longer gives provocative speeches of the sort that used to anger them.”

Hence, when the King was asked to host Trump for a second state visit, despite the controversial views and the threat of Canada’s sovereignty, he agreed without complaint.

“I don’t get the sense that the King was reluctant to do that. If that’s what the Government wants, he’s jolly well going to be accommodating,” he continued. “He’s doing his best to be a constitutional king.”

A Palace source confirmed that the King is conscious of “demonstrating support for his government”.

Hence, it is possible that when Harry made direct remarks at the Palace courtiers or filed a case against the UK Home Office, he did not want to intervene, despite wanting to welcome back his ‘darling boy’.

Following Harry’s comments about the ‘men in grey suits’ it remains to be seen how the King carries the reconciliation forwards bearing in mind the heavy responsibility he carries.
