ISLAMABAD: The Special Judge Central will hear the Toshakhana-II case against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi today (Friday) in Adiala Jail.

According to the court, the hearing earlier scheduled for September 2 in Adiala Jail was postponed due to the unavailability of senior lawyer Salman Safdar. The hearing was postponed at his request. The hearing will now be held on October 3 in Adiala Jail, during which PTI founder’s lawyers will cross-examine witness Mohsin Haroon. The court has informed the lawyers of the new date.

In a separate case, District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana has again adjourned the private complaint filed by PTI regarding the alleged deaths and injuries during the November 26 protest. PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan could not record his initial statement in court. The court took the position that his lawyer, Latif Khosa, was busy in Lahore, and the hearing should therefore be adjourned. The court subsequently adjourned the case until November 18.

According to court records, PTI has sought adjournments more than 10 times in this case, while over eight dates have passed without any action. In a period of almost 10 months, Barrister Gohar has been unable to record his initial statement, although this statement is mandatory for further action on the application. PTI has given various reasons for the adjournments, including death certificates, medical certificates, and the engagement of lawyers.

It should be noted that a previous application by a PTI worker to register a case concerning the same incident was dismissed, while the court also rejected the application filed against the alleged raid on the KPK House.
