Speaking to Instep about his character, Khan explained, “I am playing the role of a struggling musician who is passionate about music and wants to pursue it as a profession.”

He also noted that since his character isn’t well-off and needs some money, he opts for the job of an RJ. “Among the many fans, a female fan Humaira (played by Hashim) falls in love with him and this only adds to his struggles,” Khan noted.

As a result, it becomes difficult for Khan to progress in his career as well as maintain the bond between the two. Sharing his experience of playing a musician in the play, the singer-turned-actor said, “Since I too have struggled as a musician in the initial phase of my career, I can relate to the character I am playing.”

Taking into account the struggles of a couple in love, Marzi is about love and passion. Directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain and written by Ali Moeen, the play also features Jana Malik, Babar Ali, Najia Baig and Khalid Saleem Butt among others.
