Prince Harry had made bombshell revelations about certain members of the royal family in his memoir, and some of the claims did not sit right with the royal family.
The late Queen Elizabeth at the time had stated in response that ‘recollections may vary’ after Harry and Meghan had appeared for their explosive interview following their royal exit.
King Charles’s former butler, Grant Harrold, who served the monarch for seven years, had shared that he was shocked by Harry’s side of the story, especially about Charles marriage to Camilla. The ex-staffer told Fox News Digital he was stunned to read Harry’s struggles with royal life.
Grant had candidly spoken about how Harry’s memories don’t add up to what he had witnessed in the royal household.
“You think we [were] in two different households because I talked about this happy family … with his stepmother and everything. He’s saying he didn’t. I never witnessed that,” Grant had said.
The ex-staffer believed that people who are unhappy with a certain matter, do not attend weddings or get involved in the events. Although, he witnessed “no issues” and even the dinner before the big day between Charles and his two sons was a “lovely occasion”.
However, the former butler seemed to have backtracked on his statement noting that Harry may have been keeping his feelings secret.
“With mental health, you sometimes have no idea someone is unhappy about anything,” he told the outlet. “He could have been pretending.”
Grant emphasized that he did not doubt Harry’s sincerity only that there was “no evidence” of the Duke of Sussex being upset about the wedding or any indication of him suffering from any kind of mental health issues.
“But it’s a silent thing, so it’s possible. But nobody knew,” he admitted.
