LAHORE : The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has placed before the Departmental Development Sub-Committee (DDSC) a Rs243.205 million scheme for the improvement, revitalisation and up-gradation of its tourist resort at Changa Manga, District Kasur.

The project, reflected in the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2025-26, is scheduled to be completed by June 2026.

Spread over 12,510 acres in one of South Asia’s largest man-made forests, the Changa Manga Tourist Resort is set to be transformed into a contemporary eco-tourism and recreational hub. The plan envisages modernising outdated infrastructure while retaining the natural character of the site to appeal to families, youth, corporate visitors and nature enthusiasts.

Under the scheme, 21 components will be executed to upgrade hospitality, safety and environmental sustainability. These include the construction of a café, toilet blocks, gazebos, bonfire area, decks at the lake, and the renovation of guest suites, amphitheatre and restaurant — the latter to feature a redesigned elevation and a 2,700-square-foot ground floor. A children’s pool, wooden entrance gate, ticketing booth, fountain, expanded parking with tuff pavers, upgraded lighting, landscaping, external development, installation of 100 KVA power wiring, and new furniture, fixtures and crockery are also part of the plan, which will be executed after DDSC.

Secretary Tourism Punjab Dr Ehsan Bhutta, while talking to Jang, said, “The project will stimulate local employment, attract investment and position Changa Manga as a model of sustainable tourism in Punjab.”
