They call him the new-age Khan and he has taken India by storm. Yes, we’re talking about the one and only Fawad Khan who last starred in Kapoor & Sons (2016) and since then has been linked to one high profile project after another.
Speculations suggest that the actor is working in Salman Khan’s Jugalbandi and Zoya Akhtar’s next. While Khan denied rumours in a recent interview and refused to confirm anything, the latest grapevine suggests that he has landed a solo film with Karan Johar (who produced Kapoor & Sons).
According to Mid-day, “The filmmaker-actor jodi is willing to collaborate on more films since they share a good rapport. They have been spotted together on numerous occasions and have discussed few ideas as well as scripts. Fawad recently signed a film after he liked the script.”
The source also revealed that Siddharth Malhotra (Khan’s co-star in Kapoor & Sons) was also considered for the role but later Johar approached Khan who gave his nod to the film. “He [Khan] fits the bill and this film will mark his first solo hero outing in Bollywood,” the source added.
However, no official announcement has been made by Johar or Khan and there is no word on who will direct the film. Khan will soon be seen in Johar’s upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkili in which he essays the role of a DJ and is said to be playing Anushka Sharma’s love interest.
