ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has foiled an attempt by 56 individuals, including two Afghan nationals, to illegally travel to Iran by sea from Gwadar. The arrests were made in Jiwani.

A spokesman for FIA Headquarters Islamabad stated Wednesday that the suspects were apprehended while attempting to embark on their journey. Initial investigations indicate their ultimate destination was to travel beyond Iran. The individuals hail from various regions across Pakistan, underscoring the widespread nature of such illegal migration networks. The breakdown of the Pakistani nationals is as follows: 16 from Mandi Bahauddin, 13 from Gujranwala, 8 from Gujrat, 5 from Muzaffargarh, 5 from Sargodha, 3 from Bahawalpur, 2 from Sheikhupura, with the remainder from Bajaur, Karachi, Sanghar, Hafizabad and Khanewal.
