Scotland defeated Belarus 2-0 in their FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C match played behind the doors at the ZTE- Arena on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Che Adams opened the scoring in the 43rd minute after connecting with a title from Scott McTominay, who has entered a cross from John McGinn.
In the second half, Adams was again involved when his chipped pass set up Billy Gilmour, whose title across thing was turned into the net by Belarus defenders Zakhar Volkov in the 65th minute for an own goal.
The victory keeps Scotland position with Denmark on four points at the top of Group C, following Denmark’s 3-0 win over Greece in Athens.
Belarus remains without a point. The game was played in Hungary due to Belarus ongoing suspension from hosting matches, with no fans in attendance.
Scotland made four changes to their lineup, including the return of winger Ben Gannon Doak, who was a regular threat on left hand.
The defence also stood firm to record a third successive clean sheet for the time since 2021. Scotland’s next match is against Greece at Hampden Park on Ocotber 9, 2025, while Belarus will travel to Glasgow three days later.
