US President Donald Trump is scheduled to appear at the US Open men's final on Sunday, September 7, 2025.
It marks his first visit to the Grand Slam tournament in 10 years and a much-awaited re-entry into the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing Meadows in the Queens section of New York City.
That visit was verified by a White House Official, as reported by Fox Newsand the 79-year-old was to spend the day in New York, travelling there by train from Washington, D.C., to watch the championship game.
Trump attended the tournament a few times in a corporate suite; he was a regular attendee when he was a New York real estate mogul and television personality.
In 2015, he attended the tournament for the last time where he received a chorus of boos at a quarterfinal match only months after his first presidential campaign.
In 2017, his organisation cancelled its suite at the venue.
This visit continues President Trump’s pattern of attending major sporting events during his term, including the Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, and UFC fights.
His attendance will probably require a high level of security, and there may be noted airspace restrictions that could impact fan travel.
The finale will feature a blockbuster game as the winner of the semifinal between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz will play in the final with the winner of the Jannik Sinner vs. Felix Auger-Aliassime match.
It is a rare occasion to see a sitting president appear at the final; the last commander-in-chief to appear at the final was Bill Clinton in 2000.
