Neymar has gained a fortune of nearly $1 billion without even knowing about it. A Brazilian businessman named the 33-year-old star athlete the sole heir to his property despite never even meeting the footballer.
The unidentified deceased businessman from Rio Grande do Sul registered his will at the notary's office in Porto Alegre, leaving an enormous £846 million for the footballer.
The will of the football-mad businessman was authenticated in the presence of two witnesses and a substitute notary in June 2025.
The deceased businessman, who reportedly remained single and childless throughout his life, wrote in his will: “The decision is being made in full judgement, free from any coercion.”
He added, “I like Neymar. I identify with him a lot. He is not self-serving, something rare these days.”
The legal document of the billionaire further stated, “Neymar’s connection with his father reminds me a lot of the one I had with mine, who has passed away.”
The unidentified man also highlighted his health issues in the document.
Neymar has not yet publicly reacted to the development. He is already considered one of the richest football athletes in the world, boasting over 6.2 billion Brazilian Real fortune.
Now, the only thing standing between Neymar and his unearned $1 billion fortune is a decision by Brazilians courts - if Neymar is to be named as the individual’s heir or not.
