Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather, two legendary boxers, have agreed to a new exhibition match scheduled for 2026. Nobody ever expected this fight to happen, given their different weight classes and generations.
The fight is planned for Spring 2026, but the exact date and location have not been announced.
Mike Tyson, a 59-year-old boxer who is about to turn 60, is a former heavyweight champion. His last exhibition match was a fight loss against Jake Paul in November 2024.
Iron Mike, while commenting on the shocking event, said:
“When CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, ‘No way this happens,’ but Floyd said yes. This fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable… and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets.”
He also expressed his concern for Mayweather, “I still can’t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It’s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it’s signed and it’s happening!”
Floyd Mayweather, a 48-year-old retired undefeated boxer, has a perfect 50-0 record. His last pro fight was against Conor McGregor in 2017. However, he has participated in several exhibitions since then, including one against Jake Paul’s brother, Logan Paul.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. also recorded his statement about the match, “I’ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn’t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy. You already know that if I am going to do something, it’s going to be big and it’s going to be legendary. I’m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.”
The much-anticipated 2026 bout will give a historic showdown between two legendary boxers for their worldwide fans.
During their professional career, Mike Tyson has a record of 50-6 with 2 ‘no contests’. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is an undefeated boxer with a 50-0 record.
