The forecast urged residents to monitor the hurricane's progress as flash floods, mud slides and around 15 inches of rain were expected because of Hurricane Lorena.

Whereas, Hurricane Kiko intensified into a major category 4 hurricane.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reported that Kiko was located about 1,600 miles east of Hilo, Hawaii. It was moving west at 9 mph with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph.
