Frankie Muniz's recent update about the sitcom has fans on their feet.
The Malcolm in the Middlegears up for its highly anticipated reboot, titled Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair.
Muniz played the titular character Malcolm, recently shared his experience of filming the revival, calling it "the best time of my entire life".
As per the news, the actor reunited with co-stars Bryan Cranston and Jane Kaczmarek, all of them reprising their roles as Hal and Lois Wilkerson, Malcolm's parents respectively.
Moreover, the most awaited reboot also brings back Christopher Masterson and Justin Berfield as Malcolm's older brothers, Francis and Reese.
However, Erik Per Sullivan, who played younger brother Dewey, won't be returning, with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark taking over the role.
For unversed, the four-episode limited series follows Malcolm, now an adult, as he navigates life with his own child while still getting pulled into the chaos of his dysfunctional family.
Muniz teased that fans will be surprised by the story and character developments, saying: "I think people will be surprised, in a sense, where everybody is and the story. But it's only four episodes. … It's hard to fit in 20 years of stuff into four 30-minute episodes, right? But I think people are going to be very happy with what they came up with."
The reboot has wrapped up the production in May, with Muniz sharing his excitement about the project.
The show is set to premiere on Disney+ in December.
