Rupee strengthens

The rupee gained against the dollar on Monday despite opening of the market after a week of Eid holidays, dealers said.

The rupee ended at 104.90 to the dollar against the closing of 104.92 on July 4 in the interbank foreign exchange market. The market started at 104.85 and 104.90. In the cash ready market, buying and selling of the dollar was recorded at 105.20/105.40.
