Archaeologists have made a startling discovery in Iraq with a potential to rewrite the known human history.
Experts have found evidence of an ancient advanced civilization that was possibly wiped out due to the “Genesis Flood”, 20,000 years ago.
For those unfamiliar, Genesis flood is a biblical narrative from the Book of Genesis, which describes God's decision to cleanse the Earth of humanity's wickedness by unleashing a great flood.
In the 1930s, excavations in Iraq’s Tell Fara discovered settlements dating back to more than 5,000 years. Now, a new thick layer of yellow clay and sand has been discovered under these settlements indicating a massive flood.
According to the Daily Mail, the deposits forming the inundation layer typically settles at already-inhabited places, further solidifying the possibility that a massive “Genesis flood” erased it.
Similar layers have also been discovered at ancient archaeological sites including Ur and Kish in Mesopotamia, Harappa in Pakistan and Nile settlements in Egypt.
An independent researcher Matt LaCroix claimed that nothing in the last 11,000 years comes close to the cataclysmic event believed to have occurred 20,000 years ago, adding, “It had the power to destroy entire communities, leaving only memory and fragments of culture behind.”
LaCroix believes that the discovery of flood deposits at ancient archaeological sites: Ur, Kish, Harappa, is not a coincidence but it points to a real catastrophic event.
This discovery has the potential to rewrite whole human history and it pushes the origins of civilization back to at least 8,000 years. Previously, traces of civilization were found dating back to nearly 5,000 to 6,000 years.
