Prince William and Princess Kate already have a long list of recommendations from their new neighbours as they move into Forest Lodge. And top of the list is a pub once frequented by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Most of the residents living close to the Windsor estate are thrilled to hear that the future king and queen are moving so close to them later this year, according to the Daily Mail. Reacting to Kensington Palace’s recent news, the longtime residents even recommended a few to-go places for the Wales family.
But 72-year-old Cynthia Sullivan, has lived in the area for so long that she remembers the Duke and Duchess of Sussex frequenting a nearby pub — pre-Megxit.
“It’s only a short move for them so I’m sure they know the area well. But they will be nearer two pubs – The Duke of Edinburgh and The Rose – so they’ll be good to visit. I think Harry and Meghan used to go there,” she said.
On the other hand, 57-year-old Steven Scorgie — whose father served the late Queen Elizabeth — sang praises of the Fifield Inn.
The Prince and Princess of Wales are expected to make Forest Lodge, a Georgian manor house in Windsor Great Park, their new “forever home” after living at the nearby Adelaide Cottage for the past four years. Now, they’re ready for an upgrade, especially as their children — Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7 — grow older.
