Prince William, Princess Kate defy royal tradition under King Charles: 'No'

It has also been said that William might not move to Buckingham Palace even when he ascends the throne.

An insider told Marie Claire that the Prince and Princess of Wales are seemingly defying royal tradition in King Charles' reign.

The source shared, "The decision to move into this new home is a significant one that signals independence, though it is not entirely surprising."

The future King and Queen are "strict about their boundaries," and prioritise their mental health and family life, especially after Catherine's cancer battle.

The new home will give the Waleses more privacy as they set boundaries even when it comes to royal duties.

"They have witnessed how the role of monarch can consume one’s entire being... While they take their responsibilities very seriously, they are not afraid to say no when necessary," the report stated.
