constituency. He said five percent extra ballot papers were printed in 149 constituencies of the Punjab, out of which the PTI won in only six. He said there was no count of extra ballot papers in the Punjab and the ROs had held these with them, adding that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was also involved in this affair. He said the job of Najam Sethi was to bring out an impartial set-up but he himself had admitted before the JC that there was no impartial set-up. “If Shahbaz Sharif was giving instructions, how the set-up could be impartial,” he questioned. He said Sethi did not change four secretaries, including the education secretary, despite the fact that half of the election staff were teachers. He said Shahbaz Sharif regularised 100,000 teachers a month before the caretaker set-up was put in place.
He said since the allegation of 35 punctures was mere political talk, he did not raise this issue in the JC. He said Murtaza Poya had told a brigadier, according to him, that the US Embassy had told him that a call of Sethi to the Sharif brothers had been bugged. In that call, Sethi was saying, “Mian Sahib, I have fixed 35 punctures.” This talk was tweeted soon after, he said.
He said the ECP was part of rigging as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the PML-N had an agreement (muk maka) on appointment of provincial election commissioners, through whom organised rigging was conducted. He said Chief Election Commissioner Fakharuddin G Ibrahim was unaware of all this. “Unlike other provinces, returning officers decided on printing extra ballot papers which was not their job,” he said.
He paid tribute to the chief justice, who confined the proceedings of the JC to rigging and did not allow anyone to deliver political speeches. He said in the era of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Punjab witnessed matchless development. He questioned how the PML-N vote doubled despite their dismal performance. He said the RO of Saad Rafique’s constituency was sweating in the JC and he told the judges that he did not know who sent 50,000 ballot papers to the constituency. He said the mystery of extra ballot papers was to be resolved through Form 15 but this form went missing. He said the PTI did not do rigging in the LB polls in KP, which was why it was ready for re-election while Nawaz Sharif knew that he had rigged the polls which was why he was not ready to open four constituencies.
He said the PML-N’s wicket in Khawaja Saad Rafiq’s constituency had fallen. He said according to a pre-scan report of his and Jahangir Tareen’s constituencies, elections could not be genuine there. He said the fourth constituency was of a courtier of Sialkot who was hiding in the Supreme Court (SC).
About Iftikhar Chaudhry, he said the ROs were judicial officers and asked who was behind them? After the elections, everybody declared that it was an ROs election but Chaudhry called them to congratulate them. He said Rs2.6 million were paid for verification of votes from Nadra. He said before 1985, money was not a deciding factor in elections but Nawaz Sharif spoiled politics by bringing money to it.
Imran said the mafia occupying the country could be removed by transparent elections, army or a bloody revolution. He said winning the election does not mean permission for treason. He said the statement of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders that the party takes money from RAW is a serious allegation. He said the MQM has been reduced to a fascist party and it is a misconception of Altaf Hussain that fights would be fought in the streets of Karachi if he was removed. He said a Hindustan Times journalist had revealed that Altaf was called to India in a conference by RAW, which also put up his photos on roads. He said he went to the National Assembly because of the Yemen situation and now he will go to the assembly after the Judicial Commission makes its report public.
