“I’ve justified making ‘Avatar’ movies to myself for the last 20 years, not based on how much money we made, but on the basis that hopefully it can do some good,” he told the outlet.

James noted that the Avatar movie “can help connect us”.

“It can help connect us to our lost aspect of ourself that connects with nature and respects nature and all those things,” mentioned the 70-year-old Canadian movie-maker.

While talking about other movies, the Titanic director asked, “They are the answer to our human problems?”

He doesn’t think that way as movies are limited because “people sometimes just want entertainment and they don’t want to be challenged in that way”.

However, this is not the case with ‘Avatar’ like movies.

“I think ‘Avatar’ is a Trojan horse strategy that gets you into a piece of entertainment, but then works on your brain and your heart a little bit in a way,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention that James has come out of the “Avatar” franchise and started working on two new movies, The Devils and Ghosts of Hiroshima.

Meanwhile, the director is currently busy in post-production on Avatar: Fire and Ash, which will hit the theatres on December 19.
