Teddi Mellencamp usually remains optimistic despite battling cancer, but her recent reflection on the cancer journey made her quite vulnerable.
During her recent appearance on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, the 44-year-old looked back at her affair with horse trainer Simon Schroeder.
"I've never talked about it at all just because of the kids,” Mellencamp told the podcast host. “I’ve never wanted anybody to have a guarantee whether it happened or didn’t happen. But what I can say is, did I do things that hurt other people? Yes."
The Bravolebrity continued, “To this day, does it still hurt my heart and I wonder if that’s why I got cancer? Yes. Like, it was my payback. Nothing goes without payment, I guess.”
John Mellencamp’s daughter also revealed that as the news of her affair spread, she attempted to ‘minimize everybody’s pain’.
“Not only do you have yourself, you have your significant other, your kids, the other person’s significant other, their kids,” she added.
“I mean, so many people are hurt in the wreckage. But I can say this from knowing, the wreckage doesn’t happen on its own.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum also emphasized that she ‘did things out of my [her] better judgment.’
For the unversed, the news of Mellencamp’s separation from her partner of 13 years, Arroyave emerged right before the news of her affair with the horse trainer made headlines in the media.
