5.1 magnitude quake jolts Islamabad, Pindi, other cities

ISLAMABAD: Severe tremors were felt in various cities, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, at 12:10 am Saturday night.

In addition to Islamabad and Pindi, the tremors were also felt in Attock, Swabi, Zafarwal, Swat, Shangla, Buner, Malakand, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan, Murree, Jhelum, and various cities of Azad Kashmir. The earthquake tremors were felt at 12:10 am.

According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.1, while the depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers.

The Seismological Center said the epicenter of the earthquake was 15 kilometers southeast of Rawat.

It should be noted that a 5.4 magnitude earthquake was felt in various cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Islamabad and Pindi on Friday night.
