Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming the new normal across industries, from healthcare and technology to business, IT, and entertainment.
It has also played a major role in robotics but recently an incident sparked safety concerns after shocking footage went viral on social media.
A jaw-dropping video caught internet’s attention when a Unitree H1 Humanoid Robot freakout out.
AI-designed Robot flailing aggressively during a test has caused concerns and sparked reactions about the safety of advanced robotics.
It happened when the robot began to behave violently during a test and lost control.
The shocking video went viral and sparked a new wave of concern about the safety of advanced robotics.
According to Fox News, the full-sized humanoid robot named DeREX was suspended from a crane inside a factory in China.
Surrounded by two handlers, it suddenly starts thrashing its limbs without warning. The force was so intense that it knocked over nearby equipment and nearly caused the crane to collapse.
As chaos unfolded, one stunned observer shouts, "Oh my god, what was that?" Another technician replies, "Did you guys run?"
The dramatic reactions of the technicians, captured on video, has only deepened speculation.
The robot handler explained, "The technical reason is we ran a full-body policy while the feet weren't touching the ground. Don't do that."
In other words, the robot was executing full-body movements without contact with the floor, triggering a dangerous cascade of erratic behavior.
