Vince McMahon, former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) chairman, survived a car crash in Connecticut on the same day wrestling legend Hulk Hogan passed away.
TMZ reported that the 79-year-old ex professional wrestling promoter’s 2024 Bentley slammed into a 2023 BMW 430 before hitting a median guardrail near Westport on Thursday, July 24.
A Facebook post by Barbara Doran revealed that she was on her way to catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard when McMahon’s car struck her BMW.
According to reports, one one involved in the accident sustained major injuries, as the airbags were deployed.
However, the former WWE superstar was cited for reckless driving. His car also suffered significant damage in the collision.
For his misdemeanor in the accident, the American businessman is scheduled to appear before court in August.
As the accident occurred on the day Hulk Hogan died, McMahon paid a heartfelt tribute to his former colleague as he wrote, “The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE superstar of All time, someone who was loved and admired around the world.”
He added, “Hogan's grit and thirst for success were unparalleled. He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomena.”
“Hogan left us with one of his favourite expressions, ‘Train, take your vitamins and say your prayer’. Today, we pray for him,” McMahon concluded.
