Most areas of Orangi Town, especially Baloch Goth and the nearby localities around Banaras, have become some of the most unclean parts of Karachi. Almost every street is filled with garbage, plastic bags and waste materials, creating a highly unhygienic environment for the residents. The situation has further worsened due to stagnant rainwater collecting in these already filthy areas, making it extremely difficult for people to survive in such malodorous and unhealthy conditions.
Additionally, these areas have become breeding grounds for infectious flies and mosquitoes, which are spreading viruses, particularly affecting vulnerable children with various diseases and infections. The municipal corporation and relevant government authorities must take responsibility and fulfil their duty by cleaning these streets immediately. A proper system of waste disposal, drainage maintenance and regular cleaning must be introduced to ensure a healthy living environment for the people of Orangi Town.
