At a prominent cancer hospital in Lahore, I met a young mother of three from Sanghar, Sindh. She has been there since January, undergoing chemotherapy and surgery, and is now awaiting radiation therapy. She shared how she has not seen her children in months and how she struggles to afford even local travel to the hospital. No mother should face the impossible choice between being with her children and accessing life-saving cancer treatment. Pakistan desperately needs comprehensive cancer care facilities throughout the country, especially in the rural areas, to alleviate such burdens.
