The tragic death of Pakistani model and actress Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered in her Karachi apartment after nearly nine months, is a societal wake-up call. In an age of constant connectivity, her silence should have alarmed those around her.
But, we appear to have become a society that no longer checks in on one another and no longer cares enough to notice others’ absence. This incident should remind us all to pause, reach out and truly care for those around us.
