Hugh Grant's Wimbledon snooze fest: A viral moment

Hugh Grant, the 64-year-old actor, has become the talk of the town after falling asleep during a Wimbledon match.

Grant and his wife, Swedish producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein, were attending the men's singles quarter-final tennis match between Serbia's Novak Djokovic and Italy's Flavio Cobolli at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London.

The Herectic star was seated in the Royal Box, just behind Queen Camilla, when he nodded off mid-match. Despite wearing stylish sunglasses, his brief nap was evident, and the moment was caught on camera.

The video has since gone viral, with many taking to social media to share their amusement.

Some users found Grant's snooze to be rude, given the difficulty of attending a Wimbledon championship match.

"People have been queuing since 3am to get into Wimbledon to have a chance of being able to be at this match or even to watch it on the big screen in the grounds. And Hugh Grant slept through the tie break. Frankly, I think it is rude," one user wrote on X.

BBC Sport's official X account, however, took a more lighthearted approach, joking, "It's all got a bit too much for Hugh Grant."

Grant and Queen Camilla weren't the only celebrities in attendance. Other notable attendees included:

- David Beckham: The former football star was spotted cheering on the players

- Jessica Alba: The actress was seen enjoying the match

- Olivia Rodrigo: The singer was in attendance, showcasing her love for tennis

- John Cena: The wrestler and actor was spotted in the crowd

- Glen Powell: The actor was also attending the match

Interestingly, another celebrity couple, Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro, were spotted at Wimbledon earlier in the tournament.

They were seen holding hands and dressed in all-white Ralph Lauren ensembles.
