Meghan Markle's recent Instagram post has ignited a firestorm of debate among royal fans, with many questioning the authenticity of a photo featuring the Duchess "picking" fresh fruit from her garden.
The image, captioned "Weekend plans: pick, snack, repeat" accompanied by a peach emoji, appears to show Meghan reaching up to a tree full of fruits, with a ripe apricot between her fingers.
However, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out that the apricot in Meghan's hand is the only one that looks ripe, while the rest of the fruit on the tree remains green.
This discrepancy has led some to speculate that the photo may be staged or manipulated.
One Reddit user sarcastically commented, "I'd like to know, in what parallel universe does a single apricot ripen on a tree when the rest are still green?" Others have noted that the apricot appears to be disconnected from the tree, with Meghan holding it upside down.
Some fans have defended Meghan, suggesting that the color difference could be due to lighting or editing in the photograph. Others have pointed out that apricots are currently in season in Santa Barbara, where Meghan and Harry reside.
However, the controversy surrounding the photo is not new, as Meghan's previous posts have also been scrutinized by royal fans.
Last month, the Duchess posted an image of her family beagle, Mia, sniffing a basket of fresh vegetables, which some suspected were not homegrown due to the lack of mud on them.
Earlier this year, Meghan's attempt to write the numbers "2025" in cursive was also criticized, with fans noticing that she had apparently walked past another attempt at writing the same numbers in the sand.
