Prince Harry speaks at the NEXUS Global Summit in New York City

Prince Harry mirrored Prince William’s recent call for climate action during the former’s recent appearance at the NEXUS Global Summit in New York City.

Speaking to an audience of over 350 philanthropists and impact leaders on Friday, June 27, the Duke of Sussex reflected on the digital world’s growing harm — and how it's now threatening even the most pressing global issues.

“For all the work we are collectively doing… if the digital world is not done responsibly, it’s going to turn back that progress. And we can see that with climate change,” Harry said, as noted on the Archewell Foundation’s website.

His remarks came amid his estranged older brother’s packed schedule during London Climate Action Week, where he underscored that nature is the “foundation of life on Earth.”

From roundtable events hosted by the Royal Foundation to spotlighting Earthshot Prize winners, the Prince of Wales made a passionate case for investing in nature-based climate solutions — calling them key to global “security, stability and prosperity.”

Meanwhile, Harry’s comments came as he discussed his and his wife Meghan Markle’s mission for online safety. The Sussexes launched The Parents Network through their philanthropic organisation, Archewell, last year. The Parents Network was made to support parents of children who have lost their lives to online harm.

Earlier this year, the couple unveiled the No Child Lost to Social Media exhibit in New York.

During his Nexus speech, Harry also reflected on Meghan’s struggles with online abuse, describing her as “the most trolled person in the world.”
