Prince William received some alarming news about his charity donor and was forced to take immediate steps to deal with the matter.
The Prince of Wales, who is involved in several charitable ventures, also supports The Royal Charity Polo Cup. Millionaires attend the fundraising event to not only watch William play the sport but also donate to the causes that the future king supports.
However, a report revealed that Kensinton Palace was forced to cut ties with donor Minerva Mondejar Steiner, a millionaire art gallery curator, after she offered a meeting with the William for the whopping sum – without the knowledge of the future king himself.
Steinar, who had supported William in the exclusive, invite-only event, reportedly sent out a £20,000 “cash for access” invitation without informing William. She had told the ‘VVIP tickets’, ‘access to royalty’ and a slot in a magazine given out at the polo could be theirs for £50,000, according to The Sunday Times.
She issued a “strictly private and confidential” offer to members of a luxury travel and lifestyle community, adding that if they donated a smaller amount to her own foundation, they could earn a spot at the exclusive event.
As per protocol, the Palace only announces William’s association after the match has finished , hence Steiner’s invite lost credibility when she sent out the private email invite.
