In our daily lives, we are increasingly witnessing the effects of climate change without even realising it. The unusually long heatwaves, unexpected rainfall patterns and worsening air quality are no longer rare events. They have become part of our everyday experience. Streets flood after short bursts of rain, electricity consumption rises as we try to escape the heat and many people suffer from heat-related illnesses. These signs point directly to the environmental imbalance caused by global warming, deforestation, pollution and unchecked urbanisation.
Whether it is the plastic waste we produce at home or the excess water we use while cleaning, our small daily habits collectively affect the planet. Today, more than ever, we need to reflect on our role and make simple but meaningful changes — such as using reusable bags, conserving electricity, planting trees and avoiding waste.
