Prince William speaks at the Earthshot Prize's Investing for Impact forum

Prince William is calling on the world’s wealthiest to put their money where it matters: the planet.

Speaking at the Earthshot Prize’s Investing for Impact forum in London on Thursday, the Prince of Wales encouraged global investors to support environmental entrepreneurs leading the charge on nature-based solutions.

The event, held at the Guildhall in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, gathered around 100 influential investors and business owners.

“These initiatives aren’t just good for our natural world,” William, 43, said. “They are also good long-term investments offering huge potential.”

The future king emphasised that climate solutions are “the foundation of long-term security, stability and prosperity,” noting that more than half of global GDP depends on nature.

“But they cannot do it alone,” he continued. “Capital, delivered at the right time, in the right way, is the difference between their failure and their success.”

William celebrated recent Earthshot success stories, like NatureMetrics raising $25 million to boost biodiversity monitoring, and Coral Vita securing $8 million to restore ocean reefs. He also spotlighted Colorifix, which just reached an $18 million milestone to revolutionise textile dyeing.

“Now is the moment to look forward,” William concluded. “Look forward to investments that hedge against climate risk and provide a pathway to innovation, profit and resilience.”

The forum is part of London Climate Action Week, with William taking an active role in events ahead of Earthshot’s 2025 ceremony in Brazil in November.
