I am writing to share my experience with the Punjab government's new vehicle emissions testing and sticker initiative. We waited five hours in long queues, but our car passed the test and received the sticker. Another driver ahead of us, whose car emitted visible smoke during ignition, believed it would pass by timing the ignition before the test.
His car failed the test, highlighting a common misconception that if we cannot see the emissions then no harm is done. The goal is not merely to pass the test but to reduce our environmental footprint and keep emissions within safe limits. With Punjab facing unseasonably high temperatures annually, it is our collective responsibility to safeguard the planet.
