Princess Anne made a striking solo appearance in Scotland on Tuesday, turning heads with her bold and vibrant outfit as she officially opened Gordonstoun School’s new coastguard centre in Moray.

The Princess Royal embraced the local spirit in a bright purple tartan skirt, woven with accents of green and white that added a refreshing pop of colour against the region’s typically grey skies.

Prepared for the damp weather, she layered sheer tights beneath the skirt and paired it with a smart, cropped tweed jacket, buttoned up neatly for a polished look.

Anne wrapped a purple scarf around her neck and accessorised with a delicate silver brooch. Navy gloves kept her hands warm, while a practical leather crossbody bag slung casually over one shoulder added a modern touch.

Gordonstoun School holds a special place in Princess Anne’s heart, steeped in royal history as the alma mater of several members of the royal family.

The Scottish institution was attended by her late father, Prince Philip, as well as her brothers King Charles, Prince Andrew, and Prince Edward.

It’s also where her son Peter Phillips and daughter Zara Tindall received their education, making the school a cherished family tradition across generations.
