Prince William, Cate Blanchett take keen interest in DNA powered textile revolution

Prince William and the Hollywood actress showed great interest in DNA powered textile revolution.

The Prince was joined by actress and Earthshot Prize Council Member Cate Blanchett visited Colorfix, a UK based company leading the way in sustainable textile dyeing using cutting-edge DNA sequencing technology.

To note, Colorfix was a finalist in the 2023 Earthshot Prize under the 'Build a Waste-Free-World' category, recognised for its groundbreaking approach to eco friendly fabric dyeing.

During the visit, Prince William and Blanchett were shown the entire dyeing process across various laboratories.

They witnessed how Colorfix identifies specific DNA codes responsible for producing natural pigments and how these codes are transformed into sustainable dyes compatible with conventional industrial equipment.

Meanwhile, William's wife Princess Kate's sudden absence from the Royal Ascot Procession on its second day continues to make headlines.

Royal insiders have clarified that the absence resulted from an 'administrative' error rather than any health-related concern, according to GB News.

The mix-up occurred when Ascot organisers mistakenly published an early version of the day's carriage lineup, listing both the Prince and Princess of Wales in the second carriage behind the King and Queen.

This version was quickly corrected within 22 minutes to reflect that Princess Kate would not be attending.
