Swati is accused of illegal withdrawal and embezzlement of government funds, according to notice issued by NAB
PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader/former federal minister Azam Khan Swati for an inquiry into the Kohistan corruption scandal.
According to the notice issued by NAB, Swati is accused of illegal withdrawal and embezzlement of government funds.
Sources claim that in the case involving illegal use of billions of rupees in Kohistan, evidence has emerged showing that millions of rupees were transferred to Azam Swati’s personal bank account.
NAB has directed Azam Swati to appear before the Combined Investigation Team (CIT-I) at the NAB headquarters in Hayatabad, Peshawar, on June 23 at 11:00am, along with the relevant records.
The notice also states that in case of non-cooperation, NAB reserves the right to take legal action.
