BD varsities, PU to collaborate on research

LAHORE:A delegation consisting of VCs and other officials of various Bangladeshi universities visited Punjab University here Tuesday and signed memorandums of understanding to collaborate in research, student-teachers exchange and other sectors.

PU VC Prof Dr M Ali warmly welcomed the participants of the delegation which included Bangladesh’s North South University VC Dr Abdul Hanan Chaudhry, VC Daffodil International University Dr MD Lutfur Rehman, VC University of Asia Pacific Dr Qamarul Ahsan, VC International Islamic University Dr Muhammad Azadi and others. Expressing their views, the participants of the Bangladeshi delegation said that our relatives are graduates of PU.

They said that the previous Bangladeshi government did not allow us to have links with Pakistani universities. He said that Dr M Yunus wants to promote relations with Pakistani universities. He said that PU is the oldest and greatest university in the region, which they are happy to visit. Dr Abdul Hanan Chaudhry said that he is very interested in enhancing relations with Pakistani universities. He said that we want collaborative research, exchange of teachers and student delegations.

UVAS starts admissions to degree programmes

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) has started admissions to various degree programmes at its all campuses.

UVAS VC Prof Dr M Younus along with Dean Faculty of Veterinary Sciences Prof Dr Aneela Zameer Durrani inaugurated the Admission Desk at UVAS City Campus where students will be facilitated for admissions while a number of faculty members, staff and students were present in this inaugural ceremony. The following degree programmes are being offered, including five-year DVM and PharmD. Moreover, BS four-year, including BBA, Applied Microbiology, Medical Lab Tech, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Food Science & Tech, Nutrition & Dietetics, Environmental Sciences, Biological Sciences, Computer Sciences, Poultry Science, Dairy Tech, Zoology, Botany, Fisheries & Aquaculture, Animal Products Technology and Genetics. Few more degree programmes include MPhil (Business Management), MBA (Executive) and PhD (Business Management).
