QUETTA: An accountability court on Friday extended the remand of former Balochistan Finance Adviser Mir Khalid Lango by fourteen days.

Suspect Khalid Lango was produced for a hearing which was presided by Judge Abdul Majeed Nasir pertaining to the Mushtaq Raisani corruption case. Lango was brought before the court since his remand had expired.

At the request of NAB, the court extended Lango's remand by another fourteen days. Khalid Lango's attorney requested the court that nothing had been proven so far against his client hence the need for an additional remand did not exist.

However, the investigating officer of NAB informed the court that seven new accounts have surfaced in relation to the case and further investigation is being conducted.

The court asked Khalid Lango whether he was encountering any difficulty or not to which he replied that he was satisfied with NAB's attitude. However, he requested the court not to change the investigating officer since some unpleasantness had occurred during the course of interrogation with other investigating officers.

The judge postponed proceedings till July 14. Mir Khalid Lango, who is the former Balochistan Finance Adviser, is accused of corruption in the Mushtaq Raisani corruption case.
