KARACHI: The Karachi-based startup airline Air Karachi has been granted a Regular Public Transport (RPT) licence by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The airline is led by prominent business figures from Karachi and is modelled on the success of Air Sial -- a similar venture launched by industrialists in Sialkot. Its founders aim to establish a business-backed airline that delivers operational efficiency and financial independence, especially in light of the persistent challenges faced by the national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).“Yes, we have received the licence from the CAA,” confirmed Hanif Gohar, one of the airline’s key stakeholders, while sharing a copy of the CAA’s licence notification with The News.
